Denise Beagley

Denise Beagley, M.Sc. is the Manager, Clinicial Initiatives and Training, at Arizona State University’s Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy. Beagley has worked within the behavioral health system since 2002. Prior to working in Arizona, she completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.

To date, Beagley’s work has centered around the intersection of criminal justice and psychology. While at Trinity College, her research focused on the Garda Síochána (the police force in Ireland), the effects of job stress and their willingness to access counseling.
Since 2005, Denise has served as adjunct faculty for the Arizona Administrative Office of the Courts in the areas of motivational interviewing, probation compassion fatigue, understanding psychiatric disorders, Heroin A to Z and hearing voices.

Beagley has more than 18 years of experience working in the areas of co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, cultural competency, suicide prevention, motivational interviewing, compassion fatigue, correctional fatigue, and stress management. She is also a certified master trainer for the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) , Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) model, and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
