The Arizona Municipal Clerks Association Executive Board announced Darcie McCracken was selected as the first recipient of the Arizona Municipal Clerks’ Deputy Clerk of the Year Award.
“It means a lot because it was the entire state and it is the 55th anniversary of the AMCA,” McCracken said. “It means that people who have seen me go through all the training, that they respect me and I actually had a couple of fellow clerks come up and say that I was who they aspire to be.”

She was nominated anonymously, so McCracken does not know who submitted the nomination, but she was surprised when she was told of her award.

“It was completely anonymously and I was beyond surprised, when they said I had won,” McCracken said. “When people within the organization heard they were awarding this for the first time, my fellow clerks said they felt I was the person that should have won, so that was amazing and an honor.”

The honor was awarded July 26 at the AMCA’s annual conference in Fountain Hills.
