Deputy Fire Chief Brian Sturdivant to lead department at year's end
PETERSBURG - The City announced Thursday the man who will temporarily replace the retiring fire chief at the end of the year.
Petersburg's Interim City Manager Tom Tyrrell announced the hiring of Deputy Fire Chief Brian E. Sturdivant as the Interim Fire Chief upon the retirement of Chief T.C. Hairston effective December 31.
Sturdivant has been with the Petersburg Fire Department since 2014.
"I am committed to increasing internal and external customer service with a focus on efficient emergency services delivery," said Sturdivant. "I enjoy being an advocate for my department and a problem solver."
