CPM Tucson-Pima Program
As an employee-focused organization, the City of Tucson and Pima County are committed to help employees "Deliver Exceptional Service to the People of Tucson", and take actionable steps in being Accountable, Respectful, and Ethical for Pima County constituents. Both organizations have partnered with ASU to offer the Certified Public Manager® Program in a custom Tucson-Pima cohort to be delivered in a combination of both classroom and virtual format.
The Ignite Leadership Academy/CPM program, Fundamentals in Supervision (FiS), and Management Essentials have been designed to develop the effectiveness of City of Tucson and Pima County supervisors and managers. The cost of the program will be absorbed by your department. The highly competitive program seeks to support employees now and in the future through the competencies, and align with our vision to be “the destination for sustainable living, growth, and opportunities” and the We A.R.E. Pima County Values - Accountable, Respectful, and Ethical.
Classes are scheduled one day per week from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Thursdays. Most sessions will be offered virtually via Zoom, however Course 1 and Course 5 (10 sessions) will be held in person at a location to be determined in Tucson, AZ. Additional coursework will be assigned before and after class.
Program Commitment:
To earn the Certified Public Manager® designation, you will need to be able to commit to the following requirements:
- Attend all program class sessions
- Complete all assignments within the specified timeframe
- Actively engage in the learning process
Additional Requirements:
The following additional requirements must be met to join the CPM Tucson-Pima program:
- Currently employed with the City of Tucson or Pima County
- Completed the Ignite Supervisor Academy (City of Tucson) or FiS and Management Essentials (Pima County)
- Letter of support from your current supervisor
